Thorough asbestos sampling
We are highly conscientious and careful when we take samples. Our technicians will use all of the correct personal protective equipment (PPE), where appropriate lay down heavy-duty sheeting to protect your site, and store every sample in 300-gauge bags to reduce the risk of contamination. Once the samples have been removed, we can clean up using a specialised vacuum fitted with a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter to make sure everything is clean and clear. The number of samples we take will depend on the size of your site and the scale of the survey being completed. However, if we need to take significantly more than normal, we will always ask for your confirmation before proceeding.
Professional asbestos testing
Every sample we take will be tested in a professional laboratory to determine whether it contains asbestos. This typically takes just a few days depending on the number of samples, so many of our reports are returned within five days of the survey taking place. For urgent cases, we offer a priority asbestos testing service to receive the results even quicker. All of the results from the tests, positive or negative, will be provided as part of your report. In addition to this, we also provide a full material report for your site. This establishes what each component of the structure is comprised of so that you can make informed decisions about any future refurbishment or construction work. It will also reduce or eliminate the need for further surveys.
Soil sampling for asbestos
Buried or subterranean asbestos can be damaged by excavation and other works and can contaminate the surrounding earth. We take soil samples for asbestos and other ACMs to have them thoroughly tested. If asbestos is found, we can help manage the planned works to ensure that it is not disturbed. This may include identifying a different approach or location for the digging. Where possible, removal may be necessary but we prefer responsible management to prevent any further contamination.
